Efficiency = Lower Cooling Bills
With the introduction of Frigidaire's new line of high efficiency air
conditioners, the SEER rating becomes an even more meaningful way to compare
the cooling efficiency of the various manufacturer's equipment. The dramatic
increase in efficiency is possible by combining conventional high efficiency
air conditioning technology with technology that has been used on large
industrial motors for decades. Digital technology now makes it possible to
economically apply the technology to consumer air conditioning from 2 to 5
ton ratings.
Frigidaire calls this technology their iQ Drive. It allows the compressor
motor to start slowly instead of suddenly as in other air conditioners. This
"soft start" reduces energy consumption. Once the air conditioner is
running, the iQ drive regulates the speed of the compressor motor to exactly
match the home's cooling requirements. The result is a quieter and vastly
more economical home air conditioning experience.
Winter Months
Winter in the northern
hemisphere is when most people spend a lot of time indoors. Indoor living is
when the stress on an inadequate HVAC System becomes obvious. In southeast Texas, folks tend
to be more aware of a bad HVAC system when the Air Conditioning can't keep up
with the outside temperature or when the power bill gets too high.
The Winter Months are the time to
prepare for the scorching summer that is just around the corner and also a
good time to look at indoor air quality. Here are our two
recommendations:
1. Perform an
Air Quality Test and thoroughly service your
HVAC system during November, January, and February. Air Conditioning
problems can be solved in winter when it is not an emergency. If the
air quality test reveals problems with filtration or air exchange, repairs
can be made before heavy summer use begins.
2. Consider upgrading an inefficient
old air conditioner with Frigidaire's new 23 SEER
air conditioner. The energy savings will quickly pay for the new system.
